New Mine Rescue Alarms Receive MSHA Approval
Following the Sago mine disaster, Grace Industries was approached by a group of mine rescue personnel who asked Grace to develop a robust, cost effective alarm that would assist them in locating trapped or injured miners during an emergency. The result is a line of Mine Rescue Alarms (MRA™) that provide protection for miners, maintenance workers, inspectors and mine rescue personnel. For protracted emergencies Grace offers an alarm that will sound for 72 continous hours. Other models offer motion sensing, auto-on activation and temperature alarms for rescue teams. All models were MSHA certified on April 4, 2008, (Approval No. 18-A080004-0) for use in underground operations.

Grace 2-Close Proximity Alarm
Surface, strip and quarry mining all have great potential for large earth moving equipment backing over personnel on the ground. Using tried and tested telemetry technology Grace developed the simple but effective Grace 2-Close System. When the worker on the ground pushes the distress button it automatically sets off a strobe light and siren in the cab, signaling the driver to immediately hit the brakes. This system can also alert supervisory personnel and can be used with one vehicle or an entire fleet.
